Signed lower left by the Renowned Artist, Jeff Dutillieu (1876-1960)

He was a post-impressionist painter known for his figures, landscapes, still lifes, and seascapes. He was trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels from 1895 to 1898.

• During World War I, Dutillieu sought refuge in the Westhoek, where he painted scenes of refugees and war devastation. He also created "Yser" on commission for the Belgian state, which was later acquired by the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium.
