The renowned Edmond Falise was born in Huy on and died in Liege on is a Belgian sculptor and painter. He was also a professor of ornamental sculpture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Liège from 1909 to 1938, and director of the same institution from 1920 to 1925.

He is, among other things, the author of the medallions in Bronze with the effigy of the King Albert I who is part of the Victory Monument (or Monument to the Dead), located in Huy and music teacher Joseph Duysburgh which is part of the Monument to Eugène Godin, also located in Huy. He also made the bronze statue of a soldier holding the Belgian flag which is part of the Monument to the Dead of Tubize. Finally, one of his paintings is kept at the Huy City Hall
